The Central Bank of Sri Lanka started issuing these 5000 Sri Lankan Rupee banknotes in 2010. They are currently still in circulation. Sri Lanka’s highest value banknote is the sand-coloured Rs5000 bill. On the front side of the Five Thousand Rupees note is an image of Weheragala Dam and a yellow eared bulbul bird. The back side of the 5000 LKR features a traditional dancer and drummer.
